This host performs scans of other machines on the public internet as part of a research project performed by SURFcert. The goal of this project is to give SURFcert an additional data source to query for running services, in order to quickly identify relevant machines when a new vulnerability report reaches us.

Duration

The scanning will occur 24/7, rate-limited, in a randomised order, to minimise the impact on running services.

Results & Responsible Disclosure

The results of our research will be safely stored locally, accessible to SURFcert only, and will not be published anywhere.

Opt-out

If you don’t want your machine included in this research you can
opt-out by sending an e-mail to cert [at] surfcert [dot] nl. We will then exclude the specified sites from our scans.
